Lincoln Community Health Center, Inc., a federally qualified community health center located in Durham, NC is recruiting for a HIMS Referral Representative. Durham is known as the Bull City, the City of Medicine, the Tastiest Town in the South, and the Startup Capital of the South. It’s a two-hour drive from the beach, a three-hour drive from the Blue Ridge Mountains, and is North Carolina’s fourth largest city by population. Along the East Coast, Durham is located conveniently along I-85. Job Description:
The HIMS Referral Representative will be responsible for managing patient referrals and authorizations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of medical records, and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process patient referrals and authorizations
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary medical records
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Input and update patient information in electronic health records system
- Communicate with patients and healthcare providers regarding referral status
- Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating care as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in healthcare administration or medical records management preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records systems
